SPN Fic: Alone

Author: nyxlily
Title: Alone
Pairing: Sam/Jess - only because it's canon.
Rating: G
Summary: Pilot AU. Dean had a choice to make, and his decision, made through love and guilt, caused each Winchester to fight their demons alone in a time when each needed his family most.
Word Count: ~5,880
Prompt:"Dean never sought the help of his brother to find John. What happens in this universe? Did Dean even find John?"
Authors Note: This turned out to be longer than I imagined. In order to make the deadline (hey, it's still the 27th Pacific time!) I've decided to leave off this first part here where it can be read as a standalone (I think it might be considered cheating as the story didn't fully explore what happened to Dean.. but hey) with an ambiguous enough ending that can be viewed as "The End" or "TBC".

ALSO, there's a line in the prologue that's been used recently in In Reverse (and, omg, if you haven't read the story.. Go now. Seriously.. except if you don't read WIP's) by Sodakey. It was an unfortunate coincidence, as I'm sure that line's been used before, by many authors, in perhaps all fandom. It wasn't my intent to "copy" it.

SPN_Crackfic challenge

My non-ability to write without a prompt astonishes even me. Anyway, now I bring you:

Title: Space Cowboys - but not really
Category: Gen/Humor
Word Count: 1,244
Rating: G for content, R? one S-word and one B-word.
Summary: Dean wakes up from a nightmare about a ghost, which offers many opportunities for mockery from Sam. Naturally, Dean doesn't want to talk about it, so they discuss their next job, which involves a creature that bears a close (physical) resemblance to a furry animal that's (almost) universally adored.
Warnings: Total and absolute crack. AU.
A/N: Writing crack was harder than I thought; the boys are made of angst. Anyway, in response to the “Out of Time” challenge from spn_crackfic. I have to thank longhairedlady for pointing out the community, and for her comment located in HER challenge response that gave me the idea that wouldn't die.
A/N specific to fic: I started out with one ST: TOS reference (because it was easiest and a classic), then I decided that I couldn't post this without adding my other favorite sci-fi show. Without giving too much away, I couldn't stop there - though by no means is this fic crammed with various sci-fi references (being a sci-fi fan, I was disappointed in myself that I couldn't offer more). Anyway, how many can you spot? Think you can add to it? List of the sci-fi references at the end, plus a small note on what's going on if you're confused.

spn_dailylife challenge

Title: A Lesson in Stillness
Category: Gen
Rating: R (for language)
Word count: 1,510
Summary: Dean is dying, and Sam is being SO unhelpful. At least from Dean's POV.
A/N: spn_dailylife challenge. Prompt: MONKSHOOD - Beware, A Deadly Foe is Near. Apparently I'll take advantage of deadlines to the last possible minute. This story started out completely different in style, plot, tone.. okay, everything but the Winchesters. This is more an experiment than anything (different POVs of the same scene), just to see how it works. Also, I've always wanted to write a gratuitous Dean whump, and this is my attempt. Probably need more whumpage.

SPN Fic: A Haunting

Title: A Haunting - found_fic_spnprompt 7 challenge
Category: General/Gen
Word Count: 1,583
Rating: G
Summary: A random investigation into an abandoned house, leading to yet another episode in their life that will never be discussed - ever.
A/N: Okay, so this was written in a hurry.. so the ending is very.. well, abrupt. Well, writing is a work in progress, right? Hopefully I'll eventually get better.

Finally, I'm answering a prompt! Whee.

Title: Rear Naked Choke
Category: General/Gen
Word Count:619
Rating: G
Summary: Sam desperately try to dissuade Dean from buying a book. In response to found_fic_spn Challenge prompt 6.
A/N: Since I don't know a thing about armlocks, I looked it up on wiki. Very.. enlightening, I must say. The line in italics is quoted from the wiki entry.

'You know what this book need?' Dean asked.Collapse )
